Most people think of moving as a chore and do not look forward to the experience. There is another way to look at the experience of moving. We can look at this as a time to cleanse our homes as well as ourselves.
Have you ever watched one of those reality hoarder shows and thought this might be me one day? Most of us do and will at some time in our life, because it is a natural reaction to try and hold on to our things. What we do not realize is that we need different things; at different phases of our lives and sometimes never again, for example, a pacifier. So don’t worry if you have your old pacifier in a drawer somewhere we will help you figure out what to keep and what to cleanse.
First, when you decide to move go through everything. I would suggest doing this before you get a moving quote, because you will hopefully have less to be moved and will receive a more accurate quote. When you go through your boxes think about the last time you used these things or even looked at them. Now I am not saying do not keep mementos, because we all need some of those! Just try and figure out what is a memento and what is taking up space.
This is a cleansing experience! It is proven that when we are around clutter we feel stressed and less centered. Get rid of anything that has a negative history associated with it. We have enough things in life to go through without holding on to the negatives of the past.
